Incorporated on November 17, 1966, the Laredo Economic Development Corporation strives to be an organization defined by its visionary leadership, recognized for its integrity and contributions towards the economic development and vitality of Los Dos Laredos and the Webb County region.


LEDC marks the week of May 8 to May 12, 2023, as the next Economic Development Week. During this week, communities across North America will celebrate and recognize the contributions made by professional economic developers to create more economically vibrant and livable communities.

May 8, 2023

To kick off the celebration on Monday, May 8th, Dr. Victor D. Treviño, Mayor of the City of Laredo, presented a Proclamation recognizing May 8-12, 2023 as “National Economic Development Week in Laredo Texas” in partnership with the Laredo Economic Development Corporation, MileOne-International Business Assistance Center and the City of Laredo Economic Development Department.

May 9, 2023

On Tuesday, May 9th, LEDC hosted the "State of Transportation and Infrastructure" workshop at Laredo College's main campus.


During the event, Humberto “Tito” Gonzalez, Jr, P.E., TxDOT Director of Transportation, Planning, and Programming, delivered a dynamic keynote speech and presentations about important initiatives and current and future projects in our community were presented by Roberto Rodriguez, III, P.E. TxDOT Director of Transportation, Planning, and Development, and Jed A. Brown, Chairman Webb County – City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority.



May 10, 2023

On Wednesday, May 10th, MileOne IBAC hosted the "Acceso a Capital" paneled by Lionel Davila, Lender Relations Specialist at US Small Business Administration, Manuel Santos and Martha Victoria Valdez, representatives from PeopleFund, followed by a very special award presentation to Victor Cruz (Next Level Roofing) as Male Entrepreneur of the Year, Andrea Romero (Dragon Cargo Solutions) as Female Entrepreneur of the Year and The Hermit Café as Startup of the Year.

On Thursday, May 11th, in a more relaxing atmosphere with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and great company, the LEDC hosted the "Spring Membership Mixer" at Bar Nido at Golondrina Food Park, with Miriam Castillo, City of Laredo Economic Development Director as a Guest Speaker.

To close the ED Week, on Friday, May 12th, the Laredo EDC "Shop Local Initiative" in collaboration with the City of Laredo and the Laredo Chamber of Commerce at the Outlet Shoppes to promote and recognized downtown businesses.
